MINDFUL FAMILY LIFE
Come Home to Mindfulness
At Mindful Family Life, we know how hard it can be to maintain a sense of peace and calm in our families and homes. Yet we commit ourselves day after day to bring more compassion, kindness, and understanding to our family relationships, and we would like to support you in your journey to do the same. We know firsthand that mindfulness practices shared within a family strengthen connections, improve communication, and promote more harmonious family living. Mindfulness also allows us to be truly present for the inevitable challenges that arise in our families and to approach them with compassion and wisdom. Join us on the journey, and come home to mindfulness.
WHO WE ARE
Jessi Heneghan, LCSW, RPT-S and Elizabeth Wilder Young, LCSW bring years of experience working with children and families, presenting workshops, and developing their own dedicated mindfulness practices. TEEN MINDFULNESS RETREATS
We offer mini-retreats for teenagers to learn mindfulness skills that help increase self-awareness, improve stress management, and increase their ability to connect with their peers. We create a safe, supportive environment for teens to explore mindfulness and get to know other teenagers in the process. These afternoon workshops are both fun and relaxing -- perfect for all teenagers who just needs a few hours to unplug. (And what teen doesn't??)

MINDFUL PARENTING WORKSHOPS
How a moment of stillness can bring joy, peace, and connection to your home
In two-and-a-half-hour workshops designed for parents and caregivers, Jessi defines and examines mindfulness, while reviewing the expanding body of research on the benefits of a mindfulness practice.
Please contact us if you are interested in bringing this workshop to your school, parent group, or organization.
FAMILY MINDFULNESS RETREATS FOR PARENTS & OLDER CHILDREN
We create full-day experiences for parents and children to come together to learn and explore how mindfulness can help families thrive. We have been honored to see parents and children connect more deeply and listen with more intention during the course of this event. The retreat includes activities for the full family, as well as child-only and parent-only activities and discussions. Families leave the retreat with a toolbox of mindfulness strategies to try out at home, as well as with a greater sense of calm and connection. These daylong events include a mix of teaching, group discussions, hands-on activities, and family exercises. The full-day retreat is designed for children from age 12 to 18 and their parents or caregivers.
FAMILY MINDFULNESS RETREATS FOR PARENTS & YOUNG CHILDREN
We offer half-day retreats for those younger children who may not yet be ready for the full-day experience. Parents and children will learn and practice mindfulness techniques to try out at home, including suggestions about how to integrate the practices into daily life. Our half-day retreats are playful, fun, and interactive. These events are designed for elementary school-aged children and their parents or guardians.
FAMILY MINDFULNESS PLAY DAYS FOR PRE-SCHOOLERS AND PARENTS
We offer two-hour-long morning workshops for parents and their pre-school age children (ages 3-5) to come together and learn how to incorporate playful, silly, and fun mindfulness skills into family life. These play days are totally hands-on and interactive and will give parents the tools and language to teach and practice mindfulness with young children.
As individuals, therapists, and parents, we have seen the powerful effect that mindfulness practices can have on our lives, our clients lives, and our families. We strongly believe that an intentional cultivation of awareness, attention, and compassion can have a profound impact on our own well-being and on the quality of our relationships. We believe that every moment is a chance to begin again and that the only possible place to access joy and peace is right here, right now. We invite you to get curious about what these practices can bring to your lives, and we humbly continue alongside you on this shared path of growth and development.
